The Carolina Virginia Racing Association is a non-profit member racing club of the American Power Boat Association. CVRA is positioned in the APBA Region 4, which consists of Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
We are dedicated to fostering the growth and excitement of inboard hydroplane and runabout racing. As an American Power Boat Association club since 1970, we promote safe, competitive, and family-friendly events that draw participants and fans from across the nation to our Region 4 home.
For generations, the Carolina-Virginia Racing Association (CVRA) has been more than a racing club; we’ve been a cornerstone for families. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and American Power Boat Association member, our mission extends beyond the finish line. We are dedicated to preserving the thrilling heritage of powerboat racing while using it as a vehicle to strengthen family bonds and build a supportive community.
What defines us is our unique multigenerational spirit. It’s common to see grandparents, parents, and children in the pits together, sharing a passion that spans three generations or more. This deep-rooted sense of family is the driving force behind all we do.
Our charitable programs ensure this legacy continues:
- Youth Development & Education: We invest in our future by providing college scholarships to young members, helping them succeed both on and off the water.
- Community Support: We rally behind our racing family, offering assistance to members in times of unforeseen need or hardship.
- Growing the Sport: We work passionately to introduce new families to the excitement, camaraderie, and values of powerboat racing.
Supporting CVRA means supporting a tradition where family, community, and spirited competition create a lasting impact.
Anyone is welcome to join our club, and we routinely have members from the Continental United States attend our races and events locally.
